Kaiser Permanente is recruiting for a Clinical Radiation Physicist to join our brand new, state-of-the-art radiation oncology center as part of a multi-specialty medical center in Dublin, CA, located in the East San Francisco Bay Area, approximately 25 miles southeast of Oakland.
Dublin Cancer Center is one of the six Kaiser Permanente radiation oncology centers in Northern California, and a high-volume center of sub-specialization for stereotactic radiation treatments (SRS & SBRT) and HDR brachytherapy. Department houses four Linac vaults and one dedicated HDR Brachytherapy suite equipped with:

EPIC (HealthConnect) Electronic Medical Record system
In this role, the Clinical Radiation Physicist will be responsible in supervision of our clinical technologies and maintaining established quality assurance standards under the direction of Chief of Physics, and in alignment with regional practices. The physicist will function actively as a technical lead in the department and provide standard medical physics services, including equipment calibrations, quality assurance, radiation safety, dosimetric measurements and calculations, treatment planning activities and supervision of treatment planning activities. Additionally, the clinical physicist will be responsible for ensuring the provision of radiation treatments to patients in an environment that meets recognized standards for radiation safety and quality for staff, physicians, patients, and the general public, and in a manner that meets the service expectations of each of these groups.
We are seeking outstanding clinical physicists to be a part of this state-of-the-art cancer center and join a progressive physics team comprised of five physicists and four dosimetrists. Expertise in active SRS, SBRT or HDR programs as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, are all highly desired. Individuals with scientific programming and scripting experience will also be given additional consideration.
The radiation oncology team in Dublin also includes six radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, director of operations, IT and other support personnel.
At least two years of postgraduate degree experience in the applicable medical physics subspecialty
A master’s degree in Medical Physics or a related field
Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or Medical Physics, or certification by the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in Radiation Oncology Physics; you may be hired conditionally if considered board-eligible by the ABR with completion of ABR Board Certification required within three years of hire date.
Experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance programs in the applicable medical physics subspecialty.
Experience performing calibration of all radiation therapy equipment
Knowledge of medical radiation physics, medical radiation safety, and pertinent regulations
Excellent communication skills, demonstrated customer service skills, and a willingness to be part of a team
High level knowledge of computers and their applications in radiation oncology
The ability to provide in-service and teaching to all department personnel
The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
