Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, provides nursing assistance in the department's outpatient clinics. Responsibilities include: prepares patients for examinations and assists physicians during exams; administers medications; obtains blood samples; instructs patient in treatment plan; schedules and coordinates appointments; instructs and assists patient in use of contraceptive methods; responsible for the preparation, maintenance and assembly of special diagnostic equipment; sterilization of instruments and supplies; responsible for monitoring and ordering supplies; assists with obtaining and organizing records ensuring lab results, X-ray, previous/prior history and surgical reports are filed. Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal skills necessary to effectively and professionally interact with physicians, staff and patients.
