Job Description Summary
The Department of Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics in the Perelman School of Medicine is searching for a qualified individual to initiate, contribute and manage development of multiple projects, devices and study protocols at direction of Principal Investigator. Position requires in-depth technical knowledge in the field of metabolism (preferably human and mammalian), identification and quantitative analysis of global metabolomics and isotope-labeled metabolomics. Additional experiences in metabolic flux analysis and computational skills are preferred. Close partnership with Principal Investigator to ensure success of all researches/clinical studies.
Candidate should have extensive experiences with LC-MS/MS instrument (accurate mass) such as Q-TOF or QE. Candidate should have in-depth technical knowledge in the field of metabolism (preferably human and mammalian), identification and quantitative analysis of global metabolomics and isotope-labeled metabolomics. Additional experiences in metabolic flux analysis and computational skills are preferred.
Candidate will develop FDA and EPA guidance compliant liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry methods for detection of molecules of interest and the daily operation of the instruments, including routine maintenance and troubleshooting. Perform data analysis for untargeted experiments using Thermo software and free available software and analyze, interpret and present data at laboratory and departmental meetings.
Candidate should be enthusiastic about collaborative and interdisciplinary research, be motivated to develop as an independent scientist, and demonstrate excellent scientific communication skills.
Master's degree in analytical chemistry or related discipline and 3-5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ph.D preferred.
