UMass Memorial Medical Center, in Worcester, MA is recruiting a fellowship-trainedRadiologist to serve as Division Chief of our Cardiothoracic Radiology Division. The Cardiothoracic division is staffed by 5 faculty and performs approximately 100,000 exams per year, reading from 9 CTs and 8 MRIs across our integrated health care system of 5 hospitals and an outpatient MRI center. We have a robust lung screening program which covers approximately 1 million patients in central Massachusetts.
As the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Radiology faculty have academic appointments at UMass Medical School, with ample opportunity for clinical and/or basic science research. The Radiology department enjoys close clinical and academic collaborations with Pulmonology, Anesthesia/Critical Care, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery. There are extensive opportunities for additional leadership roles at UMass Medical School, as well as opportunities in Health Care Delivery Research, Simulation, Anatomy, and Quality/Safety andProcess Improvement that can be tailored to individual's interests and experience. The UMass Radiology Department has state-of-the-art imaging equipment, an AGFA PACS system, EPIC EMR, Tera-Recon image processing software and Powerscribe 360. The department is comprised of approximately 65 fellowship trained Radiologists organized into subspecialty divisions, trains 20 residents (5 per year) and 9 fellows. The department also includes approximately 15 PhDs and is supported by more than $6M/year in research funding.
