Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Events, HSD, the Events Manager will be responsible for the coordination of events including developing event proposals, guest lists, budgets, logistics and printed materials. This individual will partner with HSD staff, university officials and vendors to help coordinate events that can range from a four-person luncheon to a variety of mid-sized events involving as many as 300 guests. The Events Manager will be a strong project manager and responsible for incorporating goals, themes, audiences, and university priorities to produce a successful event, coordinating all event logistics including audio-visual, entertainment, security, parking, transportation, signage, decor, catering, rentals, licenses and permits. This individual will identify vendors and negotiate contracts; assist with advertising and promotional strategies; manage live and silent auctions for events; and input data to create event reports. In collaboration with the Senior Director, Special Events, the Events Manager will develop and monitor event budgets and reconcile expenses. The Events Manager will also recruit, train and supervise volunteers and new staff as it pertains to the coordination of events for HSD; act as day-of event manager; and track and analyze event statistics. In addition, this individual will assist event colleagues as needed on day of event to ensure maximum efficiency and smooth flow of event.
