Position Summary: Under supervision of the CDDC Call Center Supervisor, responsible for all aspects of scheduling and registering of patients in the CDDC clinic. Utilizes computer programs including but not limited to Diamond, Access, Microsoft Word, TDS, Invision and Signature to verify eligibility, schedule and register patients, enter charges, obtain benefit information, and generate letters for UCIMG authorizations. Responds to Member Services and Call Center inquiries. Manages medical record acquisition and distribution. communicates/coordinates with medical staff/case managers to resolve issues relating to scheduling of patients. Educates clinical staff, physicians, and team members about the scheduling process as appropriate. Ensures the accuracy and presence of appropriate documentation for effective patient.

Required Qualifications: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystemAbility to interpret and understand various medical insurance plans and make accurate determinations regarding coverageAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to work weekends, holidays, and eveningsDemonstrated experience using MS OfficeExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishGeneral knowledge of ICD9 and CPT codesMinimum one (1) year recent experience (within past two (2) years) registering patients in a hospital or clinic, working as a Medical Assistant, or working in medical billingMust be able to travel to off site physician practicesMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMust demonstrate general understanding of medical terminologyMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesPrevious experience with computer registration and registration scheduling system
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual in English and SpanishDemonstrated experience with authorization process and surgical schedulingExperience with EpicFamiliarity of Joint Commission standardsKnowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
