The Office of Admissions at the University of Utah is looking for a dynamic, organized, and innovative leader to serve as the Director of Admissions Operations. Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Admissions, the Director of Operations will join a team that includes recruitment, marketing and the Welcome Center. The Director of Operations serves as a primary contact for colleges and departments to ensure efficient processing of all applications.
The Director provides direct daily supervision of 30 personnel, along with functions and activities related to credentials evaluation, admission, transfer credit, data integrity and analysis, workflow processes, reporting, imaging, international application review, residency application processing, graduate processing, and assisting students through the enrollment funnel.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide management and budgetary oversight and supervision for the following areas: Domestic and International Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Residency Officer(s) and Document Imaging Processing. 2. Work with other areas on campus to maintain admissions policies/standards, troubleshooting, and general communication and reporting to ensure a smooth process for all applicants. 3. Provide strategic direction by setting short and long-term goals, estimating budgetary requirements for staff, space and equipment planning, and implementing special projects and policies. 4. Lead the admissions operations division including hiring, training, coaching, and providing professional development for admissions operations staff that is consistent with both the office and institutional commitment to diversity and inclusion. 5. Lead the staff in admission standards and practices. 6. Maintain strong working relationships with other university departments. 7. Work with Executive Director regarding human resource management including recruitment and retention of assigned staff. 8. Ensure client satisfaction by analyzing questions, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through. 9. Implement on-going performance evaluation for staff to build competencies that support the Office of Admissions goals. 10. Develop strategies consistent with the University of Utah’s continuous quality improvement program. 11. Participate on the Credits and Admissions Committee helping to inform faculty on topics impacting state, federal, and international policies. 12. Work in partnership with the Executive Director of Admissions and the Office of Athletics to review, implement, and adhere to NCAA rules and best practices. 13. Ensure compliance with State of Utah and university residency policies, working with supervisors to implement updates when warranted. 14. Work in partnership with Utah Global and International Scholarships and Student Services to support international applicants. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related area, or equivalency; eight years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communications skills required.
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related area preferred.
Department Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in related area. Experience in international admissions. Experience in residency determination for tuition purposes.
