Department: VM: ONE HEALTH INSTITUTE - 072073 Department Description: The Office for Global Programs (OGP) promotes, facilitates and supports global programs that align with the mission of the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM). It is dedicated to promoting research, education, and service with the goal of advancing discovery and meeting societal needs globally while educating future generations of global health leaders. The One Health Institute (OHI) is the administrative home of a complex universe of projects, programs, and Centers -which in fiscal year 2017 accounted for approximately four percent of the entire value of UC Davis' governmental and private research contracts and grants. A self-funded unit, the OHI is active all over the world, fulfilling its mission of 'Working at the interface of animals, people, and the environment to solve complex problems impacting health and conservation.' At UC Davis, it is the organization under which faculty, staff, students, and other partners come together to address the complex issues surrounding conservation and health in a changing world, such as zoonotic diseases that impact animals and humans.

Job Summary: Under general direction of the Director of the Office for Global Programs (OGP) and the COO of the One Health Institute (OHI); reporting to the OHI Business Manager, works within two high-profile units within the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) and acts as a resource for faculty, senior staff, technical staff, and administrative team members. Manage accounts for assigned contracts, grants and business relationships, reporting progress and recommending action or course correction. Perform high-level and high-volume procurement for grants and contracts. Also acts as the primary point-of-contact for foreign visitors and donors to the programs of OGP and OHI.
Physical Demands: Move and transport supplies and boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
Sit at a workstation and use a computer for extended periods of time.
Work Environment: Work occasional overtime usually on short notice to meet operational needs.
Restricted vacation during peak periods.
Valid California Driver's license required.
Overnight travel during oil spill response.
Work in a shared area with open space and multiple interruptions.
Work as a member of a team in a team oriented environment.
Work in an environment where animals are used in research.

Minimum Qualifications: - Experience with budgeting, accounting, and financial systems.
- Knowledge and skills to investigate purchasing and accounts payable issues.
- Experience with computers and basic software programs to handle correspondence, forms and basic spreadsheets/data base.
- Experience with automated on-line systems (such as employee databases, time reporting, staff hiring, student information systems and/or accounting functions).
- Experience processing and tracking reports for accounts.
- Experience to understand, interpret, convey, and implement department and university policy, practices and procedures in all areas of responsibility and serve as a resource.
- Skills to identify, investigate, and resolve accounting problems and reconcile records and reports.
- Experience making foreign and domestic travel arrangements.
