This position is within the Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) Unit within the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (ICTS).
Under the direction of the BERD Unit Director, the incumbent will provide support for biostatistical collaborative research, methodology research and BERD education/teaching. This includes biostatistical consultation to faculty, staff and student researchers, support on study design, data analysis, support for novel biostatistical methodology research, data management & coordination, and BERD education support, including short courses on the practice of biostatistics to diverse audiences. Responsibilities include mathematical modeling development, statistical programming and consultation support for investigators/scientists throughout ICTS and the UCI campus broadly; running simulations for new and existing mathematical approaches to data analysis (including, but not limited to, survival analysis, generalized linear models, generalized linear mixed models, machine learning methods), arising from laboratory studies, clinical trials, and population-based studies; participating in consultations and discussions with researchers; assisting with the preparation of research papers, abstracts, and presentations; keeping current with related research literature; contributing to grant proposal preparation for future funding. The incumbent is responsible for managing multiple collaborative research projects and associated deadlines.
Appropriate specialized training on BERD standard operating procedures for statistical consultation and project tracking will be provided.

Valid California Drivers License and reliable transportation Requires travel to UCIMC in personal car about once every 2 weeks and for occasional meetings.
