Working in the Corporate Alliance group within the Office of Technology Development (OTD) and reporting to the Managing Director Strategic Alliances, the successful candidate will provide assistance with managing research alliances that have been or will be created between Harvard OTD and our industry partners. Harvard's Corporate Alliances team maximizes the value of industry sponsored research alliances by ensuring productive collaborative relationships between the Harvard faculty and our industry partners. The ultimate objective of the alliance manager is to maximize the value of each industry sponsored research project through effective project-level management.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work with the Managing Director Strategic Alliances and the Directors of Business Development (DBD) to support collaborative relationships between the Harvard faculty and our industry partners.
Ensure all obligations outlined in the industry sponsored research agreement are met at the project and alliance levels.
Coordinate, attend, and lead meetings to support research collaborations.
Monitor and track research progress and milestones through formats including progress reports, meeting minutes, and Gantt charts.
Communicate research progress and project updates to industry partners.
Work with Harvard OTD and the Harvard faculty to identify new research projects through formats including formal research proposal requests.
NOTE: This is a 4-year term appointment.

Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
Advanced degree in biological sciences or related discipline. Five years of relevant experience in positions involved with project management, alliance management, and/or business development in an industrial or academic setting. Must possess a results-oriented approach. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail are required. Willingness to perform tasks at all levels from administrative to scientific and strategic. Ability to prioritize work in a complex matrix environment.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with project and/or alliance management experience. Preference given to candidates with a PhD in biological sciences or related discipline.
