The Genomics Core Facility (GenCore) at NYU’s Center for Genomics and Systems Biology is seeking a full-time senior laboratory associate. GenCore supports multiple projects and research initiatives in the NYU Biology Department. Job Responsibilities: ? Leading the design and development of new protocols and applications ? Developing novel scripts and strategies for robotic instruments ? Designing and developing cell sorting experiments ? Overseeing the development of next-generation sequencing methods ? Operating, monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting all shared equipment ? Consulting with all levels of Biology faculty and staff on experimental issues ? Maintaining a high standard of customer service and lab efficiency
? Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, chemistry or life science fields ? 2 or more years of molecular biology experience ? High level knowledge of lab techniques (flow cytometry, qPCR, etc) ? Effective oral and communication skills required ? Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills ? Outstanding customer based skills ? Genomics experience required ? FACSAria experience preferred but not required ? Automation experience preferred but not required
