Job Description The U.S. Coast Guard Academy, located in New London, Connecticut, invites applications for the position of Director of Athletics, Health, and Physical Education. The Academy seeks an individual with a proven leadership background, strong administrative and managerial experience at the senior academic level, and understanding of NCAA Division III athletics and philosophy. The Director of Athletics, Health, and Physical Education (AD) is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, NCAA, and Academy athletic regulations, administering division funds and accounts in a fiscally responsible manner, and sustaining a culture of sportsmanship, professionalism, respect, and equity and inclusion expected of United States Coast Guard personnel. The AD reports directly to the Superintendent of the Coast Guard Academy and collaborates with the Commandant of Cadets, Dean of Academics, and the Director of Admissions on recruitment, selection, development, and graduation of Cadet athletes. The AD may be required to teach in a physical education academic program on occasion and will frequently be required to work nights and weekends. Frequent travel is also required. As a member of the Academy's Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the AD will lead the Academy's collegiate level athletic program to a high level of national recognition.
