The Department of Surgery and the Center for Immunity and Inflammation (CII) at New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, located in Newark, NJ, invites applications for full time, tenure-track appointments at the Associate or Assistant Professor level. The position will be supported by a competitive start up package with exceptional candidates being considered for further support as Chancellor Scholars.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Candidate Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, post-doctoral experience, excellent communication skills and a record of productivity in immunology. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should have a substantial trajectory toward developing a rigorous, externally-funded immunology research program. Candidates at the Associate Professor level should have a national scientific reputation, current research funding and a history of mentorship and leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required knowledge, skills and abilities include but are not limited to developing a strong independent research program within the Department of Surgery and the Center for Immunity and Inflammation. In addition it is expected that the incumbent will participate in conferences, symposia, and other activities supporting research as well as participate in graduate education. It is expected that a substantial extramurally funded research program will be maintained at New Jersey Medical School.
Certifications/Licenses Candidate must have all required certifications and licenses associated with their credentials.
Equipment utilized will depend on the area of research and methods used. The CII Core Facilities include Biostatistics Core; Center for Genome Informatics; Experimental Histology & Confocal Imaging Core; Flow Cytometry and Immunology Core Laboratory; Molecular Resource Facility; and the Transgenic Core Services among others.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Some light lifting is required. The Investigator will have a private office located near their designated laboratory.
