Job Summary/Basic Function: GENERALDESCRIPTION: Responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support to assigned areas within the athletics department.
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES: A. Provides direct secretarial and administrative support to the assigned areas within the athletics department.
1. Types, edits, composes, distributes and files correspondence.
2. Screens visitors and telephone calls and maintains appointment calendar.
3. Distributes incoming mail and messages.
4. Maintains up-to-date files for assigned sports.
5. Maintains accurate up-to-date information for the assigned sports.
B. Assists athletics administration and assigned sports with travel preparation and submission, submission of contracts, purchasing, accounts payable, human resources and other campus departments.
C. Handles phone calls and office visitors with cordiality and professionalism.
D. Performs additional duties as requested by the athletics administration.
Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications: - 1-3 years of administrative experience required - Excellent organizational and filing skills required - Experience with Microsoft Office required - Must possess an ability to maintain effective working relationships with others - Come to work in a timely and predictable manner - Able to tolerate stressful situations
Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System rules and regulations. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination.
