The Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition (WSHN) offers degrees in Exercise Science, Nutritional Sciences, and Dietetics and Nutrition. The Dietetics and Nutrition program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics and prepares students toward becoming Registered Dietitians. In addition to programs in WSHN, the College of Health Sciences and Nutrition offers programs in Biomedical Sciences, Diagnostic Imaging, Physician Assistant and graduate programs in Health Systems Administration and in Medical Illustration.
Detailed Job Description
The Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition seeks a Research Project Coordinator to help Principal Investigator and Research Faculty implement and manage a long-term, randomized controlled clinical trial related to health and well-being outcomes following a planned intervention.This position will manage the day-to-day operations of the study, manage research assistants, oversee participant recruitment activities, conduct screening and assessment visits, and implement retention activities and other study-related tasks as needed. Number of hours for this position is flexible.
Specific responsibilities include: Oversight of operational aspects of the study; assist with study start-up, initiation activities, report development, data integrity, assist with institutional review board actions, participate in routine conference calls with the Rush Research Coordinating Unit, coordinate activities between the Wegmans School of Health and Nutrition and the Clinical Study Site(s), collaborate with fiscal and budgetary staff as needed. Participate in trainings and in-service activities as needed.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related health field
Experience working on a health-related research project as part of a research team, preferably in a decision-making capacity; prefer 3 or more years of experience.
Experience working in a team setting that may include health care providers, educators, and researchers.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise staff and/or graduate/undergraduate students on project/task completion.
PLEASE NOTE: The individual hired for this position will be required to have a pre-employment Motor Vehicle check, and the Motor Vehicle Report must clear RIT's Safe Driving Policy (please refer to page 4)
Must have the ability to:
Attend to detailed directions and events
Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors, peers, and supervisees
Organize and manage assets, property, data, and schedules
Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA rules and regulations related to patient/subject privacy
Be comfortable working in a clinical setting
Have some availability to work evenings/weekends as needed at specific points in the study
Administer various data-collection assessments electronically and navigate study-specific computer programs
Administer informed consent, be comfortable leading group information sessions
Coordinate the implementation, quality control and completion of the study protocol
Qualified registered dietitians with a strong interest in research project management RNs with experience in clinical research are encouraged to apply Qualified candidates with a Masters degree in a health related field are encouraged to apply
