This posting is for a full-time research assistant who will work on a neuroimaging research study in adolescents and young adults, focused on substance use and mental health. The research assistant will work with the principal investigators and other members of the research team at the University of Michigan.
Assist in the acquisition of functional neuroimaging data
Manage study databases
Organize, process, and analyze neuroimaging data
Other duties associated with study requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, psychology, biology, neuroscience, or related field.
Demonstrated ability to be able to understand computer programming languages and write simple scripts and functions (in MATLAB, shell scripting and/or other programming language)
Demonstrated ability in data management and analysis including experience working with relational databases and performing queries to extract data
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Preference will be given to applicants with strong programming skills (in MATLAB, shell scripting, VBA, SQL).
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in data management using SPSS and Access and/or other database management tools. Knowledge of relational database design is desired.
Preference will be given to applicants with neuroimaging data experience.
Interpersonal and communication skills are very important for this position.
Under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.
