The Rockefeller University seeks a Research Assistant to join Chromosome and Cell Biology. The Research Assistant will assist with research on mitosis, cancer biology and innate immunity. Will conduct molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and systems biology experiments relating to the lab's recent findings pointing towards a possible role of cGAS in taxane efficacy for cancer chemotherapy (PMID: 31299200). Additional responsibilities include general lab organization and up-keep.
Bachelor's degree in science required; educational emphasis in biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, or chemical biology preferred. Must have a minimum of 1 year of research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, cancer biology or immunology. Working knowledge of sterile technique, chemical handling, and recombinant DNA techniques essential. Experience with protein analyses, tissue culture cells, and/or computer programming preferred.
