Description The Institute for Population Health Improvement (IPHI) is a Department within the School of Medicine with a financial portfolio currently ranging from eighteen projects/programs totaling to approximately $70M dollars. The Institutes' mission is to create, apply and disseminate knowledge about the many determinants of health in order to improve health and health security and to support activities, which improve health equity and eliminate health disparities.

Qualifications -Knowledge of the University of California Davis Health System (UCOHS) and UCO Policies and procedures to interpret issues, and participate in the creation and adaptation of new policies to address issues as they arise. -Experience with human resources policies and processes preferably UC Davis Health's. Experience in financial management and use of financial tools as required for fiscal administration. -Possess analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills. -Experience creating, managing and maintaining access databases. -Experience providing executive and management-level analytical and policy support. -Working knowledge and understanding of project management principles. -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. -Basic understanding of accounting principles. -Knowledge of UCDHS accounting processes and policies.

Responsibilities The Business Operations Specialist is responsible for human resources management, financial administration, project management and policy analysis. This individual serves as the lead in managing and tracking all human resource activities for the Institute. This position also provides administrative analyst support for the Institute and will be responsible for: all aspects of office management, space planning, purchasing, and event coordination. They will be responsible for supporting budgetary processes, tracking expenditures and making projections, processing purchase orders and invoicing for multiple funds and programs using University of California Davis Health System policies and systems.
