Health Information Management's Document Imaging strives to scan the patient health records into our electronic system in a timely manner for continuation of care in regards to our patient population. Document Imaging's streamlined processes ensure the quality and integrity of our medical records through their lifecycle. The Health Information Management Operations Manager under general direction of the Director, performs a wide range of duties including; supervising the day- to-day operations of the Document Imaging, Release of Information, Call Center, Chart Completion and/or Transcription. Adheres to the AdventHealth policies and procedures to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Associate's degree Health Information Technology, Business, Science, Arts, or Healthcare related field
Critical thinking skills (Preferred)
Leadership skills (Preferred)
Progressive professional growth (Preferred)
1-3 years' experience in a healthcare-related organization (Preferred)
Prior Release of Information experience (Preferred)
Three years supervisory or management experience (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
RHIA or RHIT credentials (Preferred)

Assigns and monitors the completion of daily workloads to ensure the work is completed in accordance with established timeframes. Performs routine section work as necessary to avoid backlogs.
Works with HIM Managers and Directors to determine staffing needs, work schedules, and develops departmental goals and objectives. Participation in job interviewing, selecting and assuring first rate training of new employees.
Serves as a resource to employees, answering questions, and clarifying guidelines. Conducts effective, routine section meetings and educational sessions.
Utilizes knowledge of all state and federal guidelines as related to Release of Information and appears as medical record custodian in depositions or court appearances as department needs necessitate.
Resolves customer complaints in a timely fashion. Works with campus administrative teams and office to discuss any issues related to HIM and routes appropriately.
Appropriately documents employee counseling and coaching efforts ongoing and conducts effective employee performance reviews in a timely manner.
Provides section status reports to the Director in a timely manner and provides prompt notification to the Director on any discrepancies or issues.
Maintains positive morale to minimize staff turnover and positive relationships with fellow workers. Contributes and promotes to departmental performance improvement initiatives and employee engagement.
Maintains overall section work quality average of 97% as evidenced by monthly/weekly/daily control audits and ensures individual employee output between 95% - 105%.
Performs other duties as assigned.
