The UMMC Department of Radiation Oncology has one faculty position open for radiation oncologist to participate in clinical, research, and teaching programs. This appointment will be at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Successful candidates for this faculty position must have completed an accredited radiation oncology residency training program. Candidates with SBRT, SRS, and Gamma Knife skills will be preferred. The ideal candidate should be board certified; if recent graduate candidate should be board eligible.
The department currently has three Elekta Linacs fully loaded with on-board imaging, cone-beam CT and VMAT capability, six degrees adjustable hexapod couch is equipped with one LINAC. We use Philips Pinnacle v.16 with SmartArc and Auto-Planning modules for external beam treatment planning and Elekta Mosaiq 2.64 for record and verification system. Treatment modalities include Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)/Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) with image guidance, 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy, Total Body Irradiation (TBI), Electron Therapy, Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Fractionated Radiotherapy (SFRT) with a Gamma Knife Icon, High Dose-Rate Radiation Therapy (Elekta Micro-Selectron HDR treatment unit), and Low Dose Rate Eye Plaque Treatment. In the near future, an Elekta Versa HDTM equipped with two FFF photon beams will be installed in one of our two clinics.
