The successful applicant for the Sr. Clinical Physicist position will be responsible for all aspects of medical physics duties pertaining to a proton therapy clinic, which includes but not limited to radiation protection, acceptance and commissioning for radiation therapy equipment including treatment machines and treatment planning system, simulation, treatment planning, machine and patient specific quality assurance. the Johns Hopkins National Proton Therapy Center (JHNPTC) at Sibley Memorial Hospital JHNPTC is equipped with a state-of-the-art Hitachi proton therapy system with three gantry rooms and one fixed beam room. Each gantry room is equipped with scanning beam technology along with cone beam CT imaging, robotic six degrees of freedom couch, and real image guided gating system. The successful applicant will be working in close collaboration with physicians, dosimetrist and therapists.
Master or Ph.D. Degree in Medical Physics or related fields
Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Radiology or the American College of Medical Physics
strong interest and commitment to proton radiotherapy
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience with proton radiotherapy preferred but not required
