A full-time Postdoctoral Researcher position is available at the Oregon National Primate Research Center in the lab of Dr. Anna W. Roe. The research program investigates the cortical basis of sensory (vision and touch) behavior in nonhuman primates. Experience with the following are a plus: nonhuman primate behavior, optical imaging, electrophysiology, fMRI, surgical skills, and computer programming (matlab, labview, python, psychopy). Candidate will be actively engaged in developing or adapting new technologies such as optogenetics and wireless technology for behavioral modulation. Competitive candidate is expected to understand the scientific background for the research, design critical experiments, conduct experiments, analyze data and apply statistics to reach appropriate conclusions. Candidate is expected to present results at conferences and produce manuscripts describing the findings for publication in scientific journals. A must are good communication skills and work habits commensurate with successful teamwork with other lab personnel and students.
