Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for the Department of Neurosurgery at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under supervision, the Laboratory Assistant performs and assists with laboratory services and procedures in support of research activities of the laboratory as well as other related laboratory duties as required.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Assists in packing, unpacking, storage and maintenance of lab supplies and materials.
Ensures that glassware and equipment are kept clean and are properly stored.
Prepares stock solutions and buffers.
Assists with the maintenance of the Laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments.
Helps maintain records and files.
Minimum Education and Experience:
One (1) year of prior laboratory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform job duties.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Sitting, standing, talking, and hearing and walking. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 pounds.
