The University of Washington Department of Neurology is seeking up to five neurologists for our expanding clinical programs. Ideally we will hire two headache neurologists, one stroke neurologist, and two general neurologists. These positions will be sited at the University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, and/or Northwest Hospital campuses. Located in Seattle, Washington, UW Medicine is the most comprehensive, integrated health system in the Pacific Northwest and provides outstanding care to patients from around the globe. The successful candidates will be strong clinicians and excellent at providing patient centered care in a teaching environment. These positions are full-time (12-month service period) appointments at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank (commensurate with experience and qualifications), without tenure for reasons due to funding, in the clinician-educator academic pathway. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2019, and will be open until filled.
All University of Washington faculty also engage in teaching, research and service.
Requirements include MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington, and certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology, as well as certification or eligibility for certification in a designated sub-specialty as available. One year of postgraduate clinical fellowship training is required for the headache neurologist positions, and one year of ACGME-accredited stroke fellowship training is required for the stroke position. The successful applicant should demonstrate evidence of clinical and academic productivity and leadership.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
