The Senior Certified MedicalAssistant under the direction of a physician, assists in the delivery of healthcare for patients, performs a wide variety of patient care activities includingbut not limited to, maintenance of clinical record/documentation, administeringmedications, giving injections, taking vital signs, scheduling, mentoring andtraining staff. The Certified Medical Assistant identifies issues andparticipates in process improvement initiatives, facilitates or leads huddles andvarious team meetings and may manage process workflow and/or staff schedules.
The essential functions of theSenior Certified Medical Assistant include the following:
Scheduleappointments and ensure that all charts and forms for the office visit areready for the provider.
Completepaperwork as needed including scanning, stamping and filing.
Preparepatients for examinations and tests, arrange instruments and assist providersin exam and/or procedure room with tasks such as lumbar punctures, ultrasounds,biopsies, endoscopic procedures, dressing change, and other procedures.
Assistwith cardiac monitoring, set up and operate EKG equipment and place or changeelectrodes.
Monitorinventory of necessary supplies, equipment and instruments; reorder asnecessary and store appropriately.
Collectvital signs including pulse oximetry BP, pulse, respirations, headcircumference, weight, height screening and hearing tests as appropriate.
PerformFoley catheter insertion, IV establishment (INT only) and dressings requiringsterile technique.
The ideal candidate for this rolemust have the ability to manage multiple tasks and changes, confront issues, handlecritical situations, remain calm and polite, and maintain confidentiality isessential for the role. The candidate must have customer service skills andobtain continual knowledge of topics related to the position. 2 yearsï¿½experience as a CMA is preferred.

H.S. Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days required
Certified Medical Assistant license from either of the following:

Cert Med Asst. (CMA) from AAMA or ARMA
Cert Cln Med Asst. (CCMA) from NHA
Reg. Med Asst. (RMA) from AMT
Nat Reg. Cert Med Asst. (NRCMA) from NAHP
Cln Med Asst. Cert (CMAC) from ACMA
