The Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at Yale University School of Medicine is seeking a board/eligible/certified radiologist with expertise in thoracic or cardiothoracic imaging for a full-time faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Clinician-Educator track.
A strong interest in clinical research is required and a commitment to scholarly output in the field of thoracic/cardiothoracic imaging is essential.
The department provides a fertile environment for scholarly success. It has a track record for first class radiology research and includes dedicated MR, PET and Image Analysis Research Centers. In addition, a Vice Chair for Clinical Research has recently been appointed to provide resources, guidance and mentorship for faculty with academic proclivities.
The Thoracic Imaging section has close collaborations with world-renowned pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and subspecialists in other fields of medicine. The Cardiac Imaging section also has an exceptional relationship with the departments of cardiology and vascular surgery, and is responsible for all the cardiac MRIs, cardiac CTAs, and Vascular CTAs/MRAs taking place within the institution
The Thoracic Imaging section is composed of ten faculty members who practice and teach thoracic radiology to medical students, residents, and fellows. The Cardiac Imaging Section is composed of five radiologists and two cardiologist faculty members.
The department offers state-of-the-art imaging equipment in radiography, CT, MR and PET/CT modalities. Our primary sites of coverage, are at the main Yale New Haven Hospital and St. Raphael Campuses, both of which are centrally located in New Haven, a vibrant and engaging University town. Additional coverage takes place at several of our Ambulatory Care Centers in surrounding New Haven and Fairfield Counties.
