End-to-end learning for cyber-physical systems (CPS) is attractive for realization of autonomous CPS, thanks to the appeal of control systems based on a pure data-driven architecture, however, the reliability of end-to-end deep neural networks is in question. To address these challenges, the postdoc researcher will work as part of a team/independently to conduct research to bridge the gap between formal methods and machine learning to provide principled approaches to enhance the reliability and verifiability of machine learning models when used to control autonomous CPS.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Plan and conduct research as needed.
Pursue research goals with routine consultation.
Set up major equipment as needed.
Prepare professional weekly presentations, monthly reports, and final publications.
Engage in collaborative work with peers to achieve research objectives.
Assist with grant applications as needed.
Coordinate activities with other members of the lab and with other collaborators.
Help students as needed.
