Performs specialized molecular and cellular research on the mouse and rat central nervous system.
Compiles, analyzes and maintains all data related to research activities. Prepares reports, databases, graphs, and charts as required. Conducts library and Internet searches as needed.
Reviews selected literature relevant to research activities.
Reviews scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments related to research activities.
Participates in the evaluation of existing procedures suggesting revisions where necessary, and proposing new procedures where required.
Assists with protocol and grant submissions.
Trains graduate students and lab technicians in research, as needed.
Understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in Rutgers's Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D. degree in molecular and cellular approaches applicable to the central nervous system with particular emphasis on neuronal and glial cultures and proteomic approaches.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
At least six (6) years of research experience required. Ability to read, write, speak and understand or communicate fluently in English. High computer and statistical analysis skills required
