Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Post Doc Fellow for the Basic Research Department at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
A Postdoctoral Research position will be available starting in January 2020 to join the Cancer Biology/Immuno-oncology Team at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Appointee will conduct research on a study designed to answer fundamental questions about the hypoxic tumor microenvironment in pancreatic cancer. The position provides an opportunity to be part of an exciting startup group and study within a multidisciplinary setting encompassing both basic cancer biology as well as immune-oncology. Postdoctoral scientists are expected to establish an innovative, collaborative research program addressing important and fundamental questions of how the unique tumor microenvironment drives metastasis of cancer. Interdisciplinary and translational approaches are encouraged. Qualified candidates must be in the process of completing training for Ph.D. and/or M.D. graduate degrees with a strong publication record, and looking to move to the next stage of their training.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts multidisciplinary research in the area of cancer epigenetics/cancer immunology, including animal experiments.
Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted.
Gives oral presentations of the research.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a relevant science with a focus on immunology and immune regulation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Background in tumor immunology.
