The majority of the work will involve processing biological samples for clinical flow cytometry tests for lymphoid, non-lymphoid and malignant immunophenotyping. Training in laboratory protocols and results reporting will be provided. In addition, the responsibilities will include, quality control/assurance, maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments.
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related science or equivalent in education, training and experience
Experience in high complexity testing in a laboratory setting. Clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
Ability to work in teams, good interpersonal skills.
Dedication and commitment to patient needs, i.e. willingness to work overtime on emergency cases.
Personal responsibility and ability to work independently without supervision.
A good degree of computer literacy (Word processing, Excel spreadsheets).
Impeccable record keeping skills, compatible with a clinical operation.
Schedule will be 9-5/ M-F during training and later structured to cover the afternoon shift (12-8PM), some flexibility can be discussed. Occasionally, unconventional working hours may be required (weekends, holidays, overtime) based on need.
