The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking an Assistant or Associate Director for the Cytogenetics Laboratory. The successful candidate will participate in a busy and actively expanding diagnostic laboratory service that processes more than 12,000 tests annually, with the use of standard and molecular cytogenetic techniques. The laboratory processes products of conception, peripheral blood, lymph nodes, bone marrow, and solid tumor samples. The Weill Cornell Medicine provides a rich and stimulating environment that includes extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary clinical and molecular collaborative research. The successful candidate should possess administrative skills, and an interest in participating in clinical or translational research and the department’s educational programs.
Applicants must have an MD and/or PhD and be certified or eligible for certification in Clinical Cytogenetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Academic rank and track with be based on the candidate's training, experience and career goals.
