A postdoctoral position is available to study the effects of mutations in signaling the molecules (specifically of Zap70 and Shp2) on T cell immune responses in vitro and in vivo. The goal of these studies is to determine if plasma membrane proximal signaling mechanisms can be targeted in the future immunotherapies. The study will utilize animals models for cancel and autoimmunity, as well as T cell lines and ex vivo primary T cells from wild type and TCR transgenic mice. The position requires a strong background in cell biology or cellular immunology. Experience with animal models and in molecular biology will be beneficial. A successful candidate will be trained in specific technologies and methods required for the project.
