1.Assists in the design of course content. Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course 2.Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner; 3.Instructs a wide range of moderate to complex laboratory techniques. 4.Uses a broad knowledge of molecular and cellular biology as well as to troubleshoot assays, to resolve technical issues and challenges, and to teach data interpretation. 5.Performs cell culture of a variety of cell and tissue types using various vessels and media formulations. 6.Prepares reagents, stains, solutions, chemicals, and culture media as appropriate. 7.Uses knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices to safely perform required work including universal precautions and hazardous chemical handling. 8.Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance 9.Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour; 10.Develops short courses and training modules in areas of expertise in biotechnology and pharmaceutical. 11.Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment 12.Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom 13.Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching 14.Maintains currency in field of expertise, in training and instructional development, and in course delivery to ensure best practices in designing and delivering education and training 15.Monitors industry trends and benchmark practices in other states and countries 16.Develops reports related to established metrics that assess the effectiveness of our programs and to gauge the needs of the industry sector 17.Maintains effective working relationships with industry representatives, community college staff, and the general public
a Bachelor's or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in and combination of Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or in life science from a regionally accredited institution with at least 3-5 years of recent industry experience in a clinical laboratory or blood/cell culture processing environment.
Work Experience: 1.Must have 2-3 years of recent lab work experience in the Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical/ Biotech industry. 2.Must have 2-3 years of experience in a GMP or FDA environment. Must be familiar with FDA regulations. 3.Experience with Teaching, and Training in post-secondary setting. 4.Creating and delivering training curriculum and current biotechnology practices. 5.Experience with GMP,GDP, GLP and SOP writing. 6.Expertise in mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry and cell-sorting 7.Experience with cell-based functional assays 8.Familiarity with display techniques, preferably mammalian or yeast 9.A passion for student learning.
