Responsibilities/Duties: 70% Responsible for independently conducting experiments using in vitro techniques or with small animal models to support investigations into hematopoietic cell transplant, organelle transfer, and device implantation according to protocols. Discuss and suggest possible experimental approaches with supervisor. Detailed documentation of procedures and experimental data is expected to ensure compliance with necessary record keeping.
20% Analyze, compile and summarize data for review and presentation. Writes summary reports on results of work and discusses results and subsequent investigations with supervisor. Participate in publication and presentation of results as participating coauthor.
10% Independently review project relevant scientific literature. Assist with writing technical reports and procedures.

1. Requires Master's Degree in related field and 2 years of related experience in immunology, molecular or cell biology OR a BS/BA in biological sciences and minimum 4 years of related experience in immunology, molecular or cell biology. 2. Demonstrated experience independently conducting experiments according to written protocols using small animal models; 9 color flow cytometry (preferred); mammalian primary human cell isolation and culture; molecular biology techniques: PCR, RT PCR, real time PCR. Experience must include demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that may arise with experiments. 3. A willingness to learn and perform flow cytometry, cloning, cell culture, bone marrow transplantation, dye perfusion assays, 4. Experience maintaining accurate documentation of procedures and experimental data from projects in a logical and organized manner. 5. Experience writing and verbally presenting project progress reports and summaries to lab group. 6. Experience training and directing other people in the lab. 7. Previous experience maintaining accurate documentation in laboratory journal and reporting data and procedures obtained from separate projects. 8. Experience managing inventory, placing orders, and involvement with budget. 9. Willingness to work on weekends. Some experiments may need to be initiated or concluded on the weekend. 10. Experience in small animal models
Preferred Qualifications: Prefer previous experience with flow cytometry and Flowjo analysis software; and molecular cloning, and recombinant DNA synthesis
